 The Mission School District is pleased to partner with Y. E. S. International Academy - an innovative, world class opportunity for Korean students to attend school in Canada while maintaining their Korean curriculum studies.

Y. E. S. International Academy is the first Korean program that Mission School District has exclusive partnership with, and have created and it will provide a safe and supportive English immersion atmosphere in which students can learn English quickly with the support of excellent teachers.

 Focused on meeting the learning needs of 7300 Kindergarten - Grade 12 students in 21 schools, the Mission School District is situated in an attractive urban/rural community of 37,000 located on the north side of Fraser River, approximately 70 km east of Vancouver. The district employs 700 teachers and support staff and with a $42million operating budget is Mission's largest employer.

 Mission is a beautiful community surrounded by stunning natural amenities for year round recreation Hiking, fishing, skiing and golfing locations abound and as well the West Coast Express commuter train provides easy access to downtown Vancouver. The community also offers excellent artistic opportunities and a 700-seat community theater.

All Mission schools place a strong emphasis on the basic academic skills of reading, writing and math and on developing socially responsible citizens. As well district schools have a reputation for providing safe and respectful learning environments.

 The Y. E. S. International Academy will welcome Mission's first Korean students and provide: - Full integration with Canadian students

 The Homestay Program is closely linked to the school district and homestay families are selected very carefully. The district emphasizes the importance of helping students make friends, learn English and feel emotionally supported.  The importance of forming strong learning connections with the school is also stressed.
